On Thursday, 28th of July, Embassy Direct was invited to join the celebrations of the Peruvian National Day at the Ambassador’s Official Residence.
His Excellency, Mr. Jorge Rubio, received a number of guests from  the foreign diplomatic community, South African government representatives and members of the local business sector. We were treated to Peruvian delights like ceviche and pisco sour.

Peruvian cuisine has become one of  the main flag gastronomic expressions of South American culture, so we were honored to taste the delicious dishes and drinks served to the guests during the event.

During his ceremonial speech, Ambassador Rubio highlighted the important and strong existing ties between Peru and South Africa.

Peru has one of the biggest African diasporas of the Latin American region.

The celebration was attended by  Embassy Direct’s Marketing Executive, Debbie Mayes and our editor, Rodrigo Chiari, together with Mrs Minneke Hopgood, a representative of  AGS, a member of our network.

After almost three years of inactivity, countries like Peru have started to celebrate this important occasion, a symbol of what they stand for.
