On the occasion of the Day of Afro-Peruvian Culture, the Embassy of Peru to the Republic of South Africa hosted a vibrant gastronomic festival at the Ambassador’s Residence on 5 June 2025.
The event honoured the rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions of the Afro-Peruvian community. Among the esteemed guests in attendance was Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, representing the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.
Guests enjoyed an evening of authentic Peruvian cuisine, cultural appreciation, and diplomatic camaraderie, celebrating the enduring influence of Afro-Peruvian culture both in Peru and around the world.
