The International Diplomatic Spouses Association (IDSA) in Pretoria hosted its monthly coffee morning on 6 August at the residence of Dersiree Gastaldi. Members enjoyed a relaxed and cheerful gathering, with some treating themselves to pieces from the Wendy Bashford range of comfortable and stylish womenswear, which celebrates diversity in both shape and style.

IDSA is a non-profit organisation that provides a platform to support diplomatic spouses and partners in South Africa. It creates opportunities for members to network, collaborate, and form lasting international friendships, while also opening doors to cultural, social, and educational experiences across the country.

A diplomatic spouse’s role goes far beyond accompanying their partner to official functions. Many aim to make a meaningful difference during their time in South Africa. This includes assisting and supporting local charities, fostering harmony and cooperation among members, raising funds for projects, and helping their families adjust to life in a new country.
