As recently appointed Cypriot High Commissioner, please share your experience of your diplomatic tour so far.
I have been posted to many interesting countries in the past, including Beijing, China and Mexico City, Mexico. Immediately after my tour in Mexico ,I went to Tel Aviv, where I was responsible for the Palestinian Territories. I was there for nine years before returning to my country. In August of 2015, I was posted to Greece’s second-largest city, taking on the position of Consul General. I went back to Cyprus in2017, and now I am here in South Africa. I arrived on September30th,2021,and started work the next day, as October 1st is Independence Day in Cyprus. Saheti School (a Greek-speaking school in Johannesburg)invited me to give a speech at an event hosted in honour of this day.
