On the 25 April 2023 the Ambassador of Romania, H.E. Ms. Monica Sitaru in partnership with The African Show Coalition Institute (TASCI ) founded by Ms Bathandwa Kwababa hosted an event where various members of the SA Government including deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Mr Alvin Botes and MEC of Gauteng Education Mr Matome Chiloane as well as members of the Diplomatic Community such as H. E EU Ambassador Sandra Kramer to the launch of a project funded by the Romanian Government
in support of equipping Laezonia Primary School, a rural school in Centurion in South Africa with much need equipment. A total amount of 25 000 Euros was given with H.E Sitaru explaining this is the first project to take place with the intention of another 4 schools being assisted in the Eastern Cape in the future.

The money was used to buy the following items:

📍5 laptops
📍11 x 75” HD Monitors
📍Stationery packs for 1680 learners
📍Kitchen utensils and dishes and spoons for all 1680 learners
📍Board games and sport equipment for table tennis, soccer balls and chess boards.

The children wowed the guests with performances including singing , dancing and gum boot dancing.
