47th Commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
The Embassy of the State of Palestine and the United Nations in South Africa hosted the 47th Commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at Freedom Park in Pretoria on 25 November 2024.
The guest of honour was H.E. Mr Ronald Lamola, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation for the Government of South Africa.
During the event, Minister Lamola was honoured with the Order of the Star of Merit by His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas. Additionally, the late President Yasser Arafat’s name was unveiled on the Wall of Remembrance at Freedom Park, a moment commemorated by Minister Lamola and H.E. Hanan Jarrar.
