Denmark is a Scandinavian country, boasting the distinction of having the happiest population globally because of reliable welfare benefits, among other factors. We have the honour of meeting with the Danish ambassador to South Africa, His Excellency Tobias Rehfeld.
How would you describe your experience as Ambassador of Denmark, in both your personal and professional capacity?
I have been here a little over three years, so it has been a bit of a rollercoaster. My first year and a half here were pure happiness, getting to know the country and the region. Then the Covid pandemic hit. Although there have been lots of ups and downs, the past six months have thankfully been more positive
