Ambassador Benedicto Forces Gafilo of the Embassy of Brazil in Pretoria hosted a colourful reception on 5 September 2025 to celebrate Brazil’s National Day. The event was attended by South African government officials, entrepreneurs, members of the diplomatic corps, media representatives, artists, members of the Brazilian community, and other distinguished guests.
The occasion commemorated Brazil’s declaration of independence from Portugal on 7 September 1822. Commonly known as Sete de Setembro, this year’s celebrations marked 203 years of freedom and progress.
